Atomic Heart Thought Device | What Is It? preview

The world of Atomic Heart is filled with strange gadgets that would be difficult to conceptualize in real life. One particular example of this that you get to encounter early on in the game is the Thought Device. However, the representatives that try to sell it to you aren’t exactly clear in describing what its purpose is. Luckily, we’re here to explain exactly what the Thought Device is, so you know what you’re getting yourself into.

What Is the Thought Device in Atomic Heart?

What Is the Thought Device in Atomic Heart?

The Thought Device is a new and innovative form of technology in Atomic Heart that serves a multitude of purposes. However, since the device essentially has the ability to gain access to your thoughts, the government will similarly be able to see what you’re thinking.

It can only be worn by those that have been Polymerized, which essentially means being injected with Polymer. The device is usually placed on one side of your temple after which a number of wires extend across your forehead onto the other side.

People that decide to get it will be able to use it as a personal telephone set and headlight. With the launch of the program called the Kollektiv system, it also allowed users to control robots and gain knowledge in a flash through Neuro-Polymers. Lastly, individuals that die while wearing it can communicate their thoughts as the gadget preserves it for a certain amount of time.

However, as you progress through the game, you will eventually learn what the Thought Device’s real, more sinister purpose is. Although it is seemingly useful at first, its inventor, Dmitry Sechenov, created it purely for mind control.

His plan from the beginning was to mass produce the product and have every person on Earth wear it. Once the gadget becomes an ever-present piece of machinery, he would then be able to make everyone do his bidding.
