Atomic Heart Trapped Man | Can You Save Him?

The dystopian world of Atomic Heart is filled with a plethora of gruesome sights and unsettling scenes. Most of the disturbing presences that you’ll encounter throughout will often consist of the enemies that are found within. However, there are also a few that are simply innocent individuals who were sadly caught up in the robot massacre. One example of an unfortunate casualty that you’ll eventually run into is the Trapped Man who asks for your help. If you’re wondering whether or not you can save him, you’ll find the answer you seek below.

Can You Save the Trapped Man in Atomic Heart?

Can You Save the Trapped Man in Atomic Heart?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to save the Trapped Man, as he is already dead. What you’re hearing is merely a recording of his memories through the Thought Device. Though his pain and pleas for help do seem realistic initially, you’ll eventually realize that no matter what dialogue option you choose, you simply won’t be able to aid him.

For those unfamiliar, a Thought Device is a gadget that gains access to your thoughts once it’s worn. Since it’s essentially able to peek through your mind, it will also be able to record them and play them back, even after death. You will be able to talk to many of your fallen comrades throughout the game this way. Although regrettable, this means that there’s really nothing you can do to help them.

Attempting to use the Mass Telekinesis Polymer upgrade on the fallen object on top sadly doesn’t work as well. This further reinforces the fact that the conversation you’re having with him is a mere recollection of his final thoughts. Fortunately, this means that you won’t have to feel guilty about leaving him behind.
