Although most will be hostile towards you, there will be plenty of creatures that you’ll be able to domesticate. But with the game often leaving players to their own devices, the question often asked is this: how do you tame animals in Conan Exiles? Here’s what you need to know.

How to Tame Animals in Conan Exiles

To tame animals in Conan Exiles, you’ll need to build a suitable animal shelter, such as a Stable or an Animal Pen. Next, you’ll have to find and acquire a baby animal from the wild, like a Foal. You can then bring back and place this creature in the housing you’ve built where you can help it grow.

Before it becomes your pet, however, you’ll also need to feed it specific types of food to start the process. If you want to raise a foal, for example, you can start by placing fiber in their shelter once they’re settled. As long as you consistently feed them daily, they’ll eventually develop into a trusty companion that you can bring to the field.

Keep in mind, though, that each shelter can only hold a limited number of animals at one time. Having said that, you may have to build additional ones so you can bring more to your base. It’s all about how many animal companions you’d like to keep around.

You will also need to be at a certain level in order to build different types of housings. Stables in particular are only accessible once you reach level 15. If you want to tame more dangerous types of animals, you’ll need to reach higher ranks before you can do so.
