Crafting materials are a dime a dozen in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but the truth is, some materials are harder to find than others. One of these materials is Red Algae. It’s used to make Miracle Fishing Bait, but can be tough to find. So, how do you get more?
Where to Find Red Algae in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To get Red Algae for the first time in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you’ll need to speak to Merlin and start the A Secret Mission in Uncharted Space quest. Merlin will tell you he’s found a way to make your tools better by using Miracle Fishing Bait. You can use this bait to increase your chances of getting Red Algae from fishing spots.
However, this won’t last forever, and once you run out, you’ll have to make more. The only issue is, that the fishing bait requires Red Algae.
So, to get more you will need to fish for it. Thankfully, you don’t have to go to any specific biome, you can fish for it in any body of water. However, it’s a very rare drop, so you’re not going to be able to walk away with a bundle of it just by casting the line into the water.
If you’re looking to further increase your chances of fishing up some Red Algae, you can always bring a companion along with you to fish. Some companion characters give you a better chance of catching items, or just increase your chances of getting better drops when it comes to fishing. Finding the right one, and using them could give you a leg up on your hunt for this elusive drop.
However, at the end of the day, it’s simply going to be a bit of a grind to get more of it.
