Elden Ring Nagakiba | How to Get
Elden Ring Nagakiba | How to Get preview

Weapons come a dime a dozen in the dangerous world of the Lands Between. Elden Ring does a good job of giving you many different weapons of diverse types to test out. However, some of these weapons require quite a lot of dedication, or additional heartbreak. The Nagakiba is a katana in Elden Ring, and is the preferred weapon of the NPC Bloody Finger Hunter Yura. But, how can we get our hands on this long, long blade?

How to Get the Nagakiba in Elden Ring

How to Get the Nagakiba in Elden Ring

The Nagakiba is obtained as part of Bloody Finger Hunter Yura’s quest in Elden Ring. You can unlock it at any point by slaying Yura at any of his locations. Yura is located either in southwestern Limgrave, next to the Seaside Ruins Grace, or near Murkwater Cave in middle Limgrave, near the Ravine. Upon defeating him, he will drop the Nagakiba, unless you defeat him at the end of his questline.

Unfortunately, the only Nagakiba in Elden Ring belongs to the NPC Yura. In order to obtain it, you will have to engage in his quest line or kill him. Thankfully, his quest begins very early on in Elden Ring. You can obtain the Nagakiba as early as you leave the First Step by riding to the ruins west of the Agheel Lake South site of grace. Yura can be found here, under the ruins next to Patch’s cave, or near Raya Lucaria’s Main Academy Gate. Being able to get this katana immediately can be crucial to specific builds.

Yura’s preferred weapon is an incredibly long katana. It has the best range of any katana, and works quite well as a zoning weapon in PvE scenarios. It begins with the Piercing Fang weapon art, which can be removed to show the default Art of War, Unsheathe. Piercing Fang is fun since it cannot be blocked, but is usually unnecessarily slow.

Can You Get The Nagakiba Without Killing Yura?

Can You Get The Nagakiba Without Killing Yura?

Thankfully, if you are willing to wait, you will get the Nagakiba without killing Yura. Near the end of his quest, Yura will show up at the Second Church of Marika to ask you to help him defeat one more Bloody Finger, Eleonora. Before you defeat her, he will give you his sword.

But, this can be tricky. If you go too deep into the Mountaintops of the Giants, Yura will be possessed by Shabiri. If this happens and Yura does not show up at the church, you’re not out of luck yet. That’s because he has left his sword at the last place that you’ve talked to him. So, check the locations of his questline. It should be at the last place you’ve talked to him, so either Agheel South, near Patches’s Cave, or at the front of Raya Lucaria.
