Death is inevitable in Conan Exiles, whether it arrives through misadventure or combat. But while you cannot escape fate, you can attempt to escape its cold clutches with armor. And if you want the best armor, you’re going to need Perfected Heavy Padding. However, before you can do that, you’ll need to satisfy a few prerequisites.
How to Get Perfected Heavy Padding in Conan Exiles
In order to unlock Perfected Heavy Padding, you need to learn the knowledge Exile Epics. This requires that you also have the knowledge for Armorer, and Star Metal Tools, which also requires Star Metal Bars. As you progress through the game, you’ll be able to unlock these on your own.
Once you have all this knowledge unlocked, you’ll then be able to make the Perfected Heavy Padding. However, as always, you’ll need the right ingredients to do so.
The first thing you’re going to need is 42 Hardened Leather. You can do that by combining Leather, Thick Leather, Alchemical Base, and Oil on the Tanner’s table. Next, you’ll need 14 Elephant Hide, which can be collected from elephants in the Savannah biome. Finally, you need seven Twine, which can be made from Plant Fiber.
Once you have all of these materials, head to an armorer’s bench and throw everything together. The process is quick; it should only take about 30 seconds. When it’s done, you’ll have your fresh new crafting material.
As for what Perfected Heavy Padding is for, that’s pretty simple. You can use it in both the Cimmerian Steel Armor and the Stygian Invader Armor set. This material provides a hefty upgrade in your defense, assuming you use it to craft high-end armor.
